Well, here we go...
This morning after two hours of kundlini yoga I got the right inspiration and decided to start up my blog!
Here I am now eager to share with all of you tips, recipes, thoughts and everything else that makes life wonderful. I chose to call the blog "Dancing Barefoot" not because I get to do it very often, being a mother of two, a Waldorf first grade assistant, and a writer, I don't get to dance barefoot ( unless it's on the kitchen floor!) but because it is one of the things I most love to do when I go home to Italy...feel the warm sand under my feet and ... dance. Being Italian, I guess I could say that I have an innate passion for food and cooking. Especially this time of the year, (in Michigan where we live it is already quite cold) my favorite thing is to make a fire in our wood burning stove and cook in my kitchen, which we just recently painted red, and what red...apple spice red!
What is more beautiful than the color red during Autumn, the red of the leaves of the sugar maples, the red of the sumac on the trails, the red of the apples, and the red of the sky at sunrise, what beauty...
"...Beauty is not a need but an ecstasy.
It is not a mouth thirsting nor a hand stretched forth,
But rather a heart inflamed and a soul enchanted.
It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear,
But rather an image you would see though you close your eyes
and a song you hear though you shut your ears."
Kahlil Gibran
